Why do we need Bible Study?
As summer draws to an end, though bittersweet, I am reminded of why being in a Bible study is so important for me personally. I love summer. I love sleeping in, I love not being on a schedule, I really love traveling and going on vacation. But as much as I love vacation, I can tend to take a vacation from God sometimes as well.
Don’t get me wrong, I still spent time with Him this summer, but my Bible has been tucked away in my “Bible Study Bag” for a good part of it. My faith is built upon the Word of God, so how can I strengthen my faith if the thing it’s built upon is tucked away in a bag?
Thus the reason I need Bible study. Bible study not only helps me stay in His Word daily (and I NEED His Word daily), but it also gives me a group of fellow believers who can hold me accountable and who can help me in my walk with Christ.
These past few years in Bible Study, I have grown so much. Through our fellowship and study, I have found comfort, peace, understanding, truth, purpose, love, guidance, and most importantly I have found and continue to find my Lord and Savior in a deeper, more personal way.
