How did you get involved with @HOME Bible Study? @HOME Bible Study was recommended to me by some very dear friends and it sounded like a perfect fit for what I had been looking for and needed!  I was involved in BSF for years and loved that this study had a similar feel!

What has been your favorite study and why?  And, or, if you are new, what would you most like to study? Sonrise to Sonday is my first study and I have absolutely loved it.  The book of Hebrews has been so relevant and personal for me.  I have three daughters and this study has truly helped me navigate the stressors and anxiety that comes with motherhood…especially the middle school years.  I have shared so much of this study with my 6th grader and have used many verses to help guide her through some tough situations.  I don’t know how many times I have answered a question and thought, well this is God talking directly to me!

What is your “go to” Bible verse, or story from the Bible that inspires you and why? My all time favorite verse is Isaiah 40:31, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. This verse is such a reminder of God’s goodness and grace.  He will hold us when we need to be held, carry us when we need to be carried, and push us when we need to be pushed.

What do you hope to gain through Bible Study, for how do you hope to grow in your relationship with Christ? I want to deepen my relationship with Christ and reach a point where I am not having to remind myself to stop and focus on the Lord.  I want to wake up excited to dive deep into God’s word.  I struggle at times with all the things on my to do list and instead of prioritizing prayer and quiet time, I push it to the end of the day.

When, and how, do you make time for Bible Study in your day? I typically work on my Bible Study when my girls are working on their homework, all at the dining room table.  I like for them to see me studying the Bible and it often opens the door to conversations that are beneficial to each of us.

How has studying God’s Word impacted your work, social life, or family dynamic? When I am actively studying God’s word I am a different person.  The way I interact with family, friends, and strangers is different.  It is truly remarkable the amount of peace and joy that God can bring to our lives and our homes.  His word opens my mind and my eyes to different perspectives and softens my heart to the struggles of others.

Who would you most like to meet from the Bible and what question(s) would you ask them? This is a hard one, there are so many people that I would like to meet.  If I had to narrow it down and besides the obvious, Jesus, I think I would like to meet Mary.  I would love her perspective on being a mom.  I can’t imagine what it felt like for her to watch her baby go through such suffering.  Also, what pressure.  I wonder if she ever felt overwhelmed knowing she was raising The King of Kings….was she worried about manners, grades, fights with friends, and all the other basics.  She was clearly remarkable!

What has brought you joy this past week? Lots of things have brought me joy this week.  My family, my friends, this Bible Study, and my sweet group.  I have so much to be thankful for and my heart is full of joy and thanksgiving.
