Meet the Discussion Leader: Elizabeth Hertel

Favorite Bible Verse: Philippians 4:13  I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.

When does your group meet and how did your group get together?  We meet on Thursdays from 11-1.  I was encouraged to be a discussion leader.  I was sent a list of women who had expressed interest in being in a group.  I emailed them, and God did the rest!

Most Meaningful @ HOME Experience: It probably goes along with how the group came together.  Initially, I got very little response.  1 "no," 1 "yes" and a few  "maybes."  Then, after a week or so, Cameron Newberry, who had declined, gave me a call.  She had prayed about it and felt God calling her to do this study instead of another that she had signed up to do. Everything fell into place after that, and the group grew to include 15 wonderful women....Cameron and I are co-leaders, and she graciously hosts us each week.  What a blessing it has been!

Favorite @ HOME Study so far:  Luke

What you do outside of @ HOME:  I have 2 grown daughters, Ellie and Kiki, who live in NYC and Denver.  My husband, Kris, and I enjoy visiting them whenever we can.  I'm a happily retired realtor!

Favorite Hymn or Praise Song: Great is Thy Faithfulness, and Revelation Song by Phillips, Craig & Dean

What are your summer plans?: We have a quiet summer.  Our daughters are spending some time with us in Fort Worth in July.  In August, I'm looking forward to a girls' trip to Port Aransas.  Regarding our Bible Study group, we are having a summer "book club."  We are meeting 4 times at casual restaurants to have lunch and discuss topics from Dr. Jim Denison's book, "Between Compromise and Courage."

Favorite Fort Worth Restaurant (and what do you order?!): I love the Ahi Tuna Salad at The Tavern!

Favorite Vacation Destination?  I have only been twice (so far), but I'm a big fan of Lake Tahoe.  I also love spending time in Breckenridge, CO, especially in the summer.

Favorite Book? The Bible!   Besides the Bible, I recently read and enjoyed "The Women."

Favorite Fort Worth Weekend Activity? Cooking, walking (when it's not 100+ degrees....), watching any and all sports

3 Things You’re Loving Right Now: I'm loving needlepointing.  I'm loving jigsaw puzzles.  And, I'm loving that the Summer Olympics are less than a month away!
